We are celebrating our second Ofsted Outstanding Award!

We are all celebrating here at John Ruskin following Ofsted's visit here to inspect us in October 2018. We were rated outstanding again! Well done to all the pupils and staff. We would also like to particularly thank parents and carers who spoke to the inspectors so positively about the school when they were approached in the playground. We really appreciate your support.

John Ruskin's Governors were also actively involved with the inspection and many governors attended to speak to the inspectors as part of the inspection process.

We have free places available in our outstanding nurseries

We have places available at both the John Ruskin Nursery and the Brandon Nursery.

The government provides 15 hours per week of free nursery education.

We also offer full-time places for a weekly charge that provides outstanding teaching, learning and value for money. Our nursery staff are very experienced and are able to provide a stimulating, open, fun and engaging environment.

One Nursery, two sites

We offer the same outstanding nursery care across both our nurseries.
Visit the school office, email office@johnruskin.southwark.sch.uk or call 020 7703 5700 to discuss a full-time or
part-time place or to make an application.

School Science Week

During Science Week at John Ruskin School each class took part in special activities, including challenges and scientific investigations. You can read all about it and see more photos in our Spring Newsletter.

Thank you Hamilton Nwokolo for organising the science activities... and the mad scientists!

Community safety

At John Ruskin School we place great emphasis on keeping children safe and on teaching them how to keep themselves safe from harm. We regularly arrange events and talks to help get this message across.

You can find more information on this subject on the Safeguarding and Place 2 Be pages of this website.

ParentLine is a messaging service for parents and carers of school-aged children in Southwark and Lambeth. Parents and carers can message a school nurse to get confidential advice about their child's health-related issues. School nurses work during school holiday periods, so you can get in touch then too. Find out more about the service and confidentiality on the Evelina London website.

The ParentLine number is 07520 631 130. This is a text number only and cannot receive phone calls.

Our Core Values: Be responsible, be fair, stay positive and care

Welcome to the John Ruskin Primary School & Language Classes website. Here you will find lots of useful dates and information about the school.

We are pleased to inform you that 2018 was another very successful year at John Ruskin. The national test results for the Early Years, Year 1 Phonics, Year 2 and Year 6 SATS were all extremely good and can be seen on this website.
